About the Artist
Harry Clarke (1889–1931) was Dublin's most celebrated stained-glass artist, but his genius extended far beyond glass. He trained under his father and became known for ornamental work of breathtaking detail—every line deliberate, every colour singing. Clarke also designed textiles, book illustrations, and metalwork, each piece marked by his obsessive craftsmanship and Gothic sensibility. He died young, leaving behind a body of work that defined Irish decorative art.
