Collection: Vintage Prints
Ireland as it was actually drawn at the time — engraved, surveyed and painted by people who were standing there.
What is in here
Period Dublin, mostly: Sackville Street before it was O'Connell Street, the GPO with Nelson's Pillar still standing, the Custom House, the Bank of Ireland at College Green, Trinity from Westmoreland Street, the Chapel Royal. Alongside them James Malton's 1795 survey of Dublin Bay, Wolfe Tone in French uniform in 1798, O'Connell as Lord Mayor, the Salmon Leap at Leixlip in 1783, and Frederick McCoy's natural-history plates.
These are period images, not designs made to look old. If it is the poster form you are after rather than the period — flat colour, hard edges, one coastline reduced to three shapes — that is a different collection: Irish Posters, which is modern work in the mid-century idiom plus one genuine 1913 revival poster.
Paper and framing
Pigment inks on 250gsm archival matte paper — acid-free, uncoated, off-white, which suits engraved line better than any coated stock. Framed in solid oak or ash with shatterproof glazing and a hanging kit, or unframed. Made to order, free worldwide shipping.
