A Kneeling Man on the Beach – Nathaniel Hone the Younger Art Print

A Kneeling Man on the Beach, graphite and watercolour on paper, by Nathaniel Hone the Younger.

A beached boat hull lies on the sand, a lone figure kneeling beside it while a single sail crosses the water beyond. It is a sketchbook page of about 14.4 × 23.3 cm from around 1867, painted in soft beiges, browns and greys. The reverse carries a study of boats and cliffs at Étretat. It is in the National Gallery of Ireland.
