A Distant Coastline – Nathaniel Hone the Younger Art Print

A Distant Coastline, watercolour on paper, by Nathaniel Hone the Younger.

Almost nothing but air and water: a pale sky, a still sea and one long, thin line of land at the horizon, held in a few soft washes. It is a sketchbook page only 10.2 × 17.1 cm, and its quiet is its subject. It is in the National Gallery of Ireland.
