A Bay and Distant Mountains – Nathaniel Hone the Younger Art Print

A Bay and Distant Mountains, graphite and watercolour on paper, by Nathaniel Hone the Younger.

A dark headland and a ridge of mountains close a curve of sand, with a low rock in the foreground and a stormy lilac sky above. It is a sketchbook page, only 11.5 × 16.4 cm, in which the whole mood of a coast is laid down in a few wet washes. It is in the National Gallery of Ireland.
